Andy conquers Iron-Man challenge to support premature babies
The Neonatal Unit at Whiston hospital were delighted to welcome Andrew, Sophie and little William back to present the team with a fantastic donation in support of our Neonatal Fund.
Andrew raised an incredible £2,165, plus an additional £270 in Gift Aid after completing the gruelling Ironman 70.3 Bolton challenge. This consisted of a demanding 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile cycle and 13.1-mile run, which he completed in an outstanding 7 hours and 39 minutes – what an incredible result!
Andrew was inspired to take on the challenge after his son, William, was born six weeks early in May 2025. Weighing just 5lb 4oz, William spent two weeks receiving specialist care from the dedicated neonatal team at Whiston Hospital. Thanks to their expertise, compassion and unwavering support, William is now thriving.
A huge thank you to Andrew for his phenomenal determination and generosity and to everyone who supported his fundraising journey.
