Lauren's ultra challenge for neonatal care
We were delighted to welcome Lauren, Liam, Jack and baby Lyla to the Neonatal Unit at Whiston Hospital, where Lauren presented the team with an incredible £3,066 raised after completing the 50K SheUltra challenge!
Lauren took on this incredible challenge following her family's own experience of neonatal care. Baby Lyla was born at just 27 weeks and spent a total of 8 weeks at Whiston Hospital's Neonatal Unit.
Having experienced first-hand the worry and uncertainty of having a baby in neonatal care, Lauren wanted to give something back and help provide additional resources for other babies and families.
Thanks to Lauren's amazing fundraising, MWL NHS Charity has been able to purchase two hospital-grade milk warmers for the Neonatal Unit, which will make a real difference to babies and families receiving care.
