Compassionate couple complete half marathon in memory of baby daughter

Well done to Lauren Griffiths, Specialist Midwife, who took on the Liverpool Half Marathon with her husband, Guy, raising over £800 for the MWL NHS Charity Baby Bereavement Fund.

They ran in loving memory of their daughter Phoebe, who was sadly stillborn in 2017. Having experienced loss themselves, they know first hand the difference compassionate bereavement care makes to families during such devastating times.

Lauren shared her motivation for taking on this challenge:

"I’m so excited to run and raise money for baby bereavement across MWL. Having worked at the Trust for over 11 years, it feels important to give something back. I've loved working in the Maternity Unit and the team hugely supported me when I returned to work after the loss of Phoebe.

I know all my colleagues feel passionately about providing an incredibly high standard of care to bereaved patients, and this money will support them with the tools they need to do that."

Thank you so much, Lauren and Guy. Your kindness will make a real difference to bereaved families in the future.
